There's just 1 little problem about that message... o.o All those popular characters are someone else's OCs... O.o Goku is Toriyama's OC, Ranma is Rumiko's OC, Luffy is Oda's OC and so on with all popular characters from the anime series like the ones listed on that stamp... the only difference is that those OCs are famous and yours are not o3o It would be more correct to tell people to do their own characters instead of telling them to worship yours xD Your message makes it sound more like you are just jealous instead of pointing out that people should make their own creations wich is the message I think you are trying to tell O.o

I mean, it's absolutely not THE SAME THING. These OCs are COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS. Its the same when you are fanarting someone else OC even if it's not from a famous serie ya know.

Just look at my stats. My most popular artworks are character that aren't mine. I mean, artworks that sometimes I'm doing with my heart and my only inspiration, artworks that are 100% ME from the start... ARE LESS IMPORTANT... that this shitty Naruto everybody is crazy about. (okay just, I love Naruto... but I'm a bit tired of hearing only about it...)

Just c'mon. There's a LIMIT to FANDOM.

And ya know, I'm absolutely not jealous. I love my art more than I love my fanarts... and I find stupid that popular artists are mostly people that are only doing fanarts O_O;.... what about original stuff?? Garbage ?

WORSHIPING??? I NEVER ASKED ANYBODY TO WORSHIP MY ART/OCs X3 WHERE IS IT WRITTEN? Seriously!!! C'MON. I know myself and I know I have more common sense than that X3 jeez!

I know they are commercial but they got famous for a reason. Not all anime is popular. There are way too many shows that only otakus know and you don't see fanart of those or see very little. Those OCs are like celebrities. Umm... if everyone made their own OCs and no fanart at all then we would be filled with lots of drawing of unknown characters and none would stand out.

I know what you mean about the stats. My most faved deviation is one of Ranma and not of my OCs but it would be like if someone made a movie... what would people go watch more? A movie where the main character is a famous celebrity or a movie where all characters are a group of unknown people that have never appeared before? It could probably be a great movie but most probably people won't go see it because it has no popular actor... but it could also happen that critics rated it great and the cast become popular then they become celebrities then they become what you hated in first place.

I find it stupid to worship fanart as much as I find it stupid to worship celebrities but that's how people is. There's no point in ranting about that. It's fame what gives you favs and views so obviously fanart has more favs and views because of that. O.o

Oui et si tu es un artiste reconnu et que tu l'est pas a cause de tes fanarts, eh bien c'est une communauté de noms... de favoritisme... ou un engouement exagéré pour le digital art... ce qui met parfois le trad dans une position plus délicate...

Je suis deg. Et encore plus deg de savoir que je dois la plus part de mes pageviews a des artworks que j'ai envie de supprimé de ma gallerie... comme des trucs matures du genre bondage..... et des fanarts ou les deux en mm temps. Mes artworks les plus favés sont des dessins fanservice et des yuris de naruto... et des trucs qui portent les noms d'artistent plus connus que moi (que je ne nommerais pas parceque je les apprécient et respecte, sans haine et sans jalousie)...... et tu voit ca me dégoûte....

Fanarts are fine. I'm doing some fanarts sometimes. But there's just too much popularuty and fuzz about it. Why so many fanart-only artists are in the top famous artists on DA? Because of the "popularity" of the "characters and series" and sometimes, not because they are good as "artists". Whenever you fanart someting mainstream and you got skills, you are born to be. What about those who refuse to do things that doesn't belong to them... like me and some of my friends?%

This is the meaning behind that idea. I'm extremele happy you understand it.

Gaining popularity by doing fanarts is somewhat using that popularity to gain something. When you are famous for your own stuff, it's even harder.

If I were a famous artists, yes, I would be flattered to see my OCs everywhere. But for an artist that is trying to be noticed, it's really ANNOYING seeing poeple who aren't working as hard as you are because they are using characters that are already known.

You understand ? I have nothing against fanarts. I did some too ! But I just think that ART in general shouln'd be ONLY ABOUT FANARTS. It's like that on communities like deviantART.

If you have skills and you fanart, you end un with tousands of pageviews. You got skills and don't fanart, you end up unseen and you have an HARD TIME getting noticed. And general people don't give a damn. But I do ! I'm in that situation and some of my friends are too !

IT'S HARD TO MAKE A PLACE FOR YOURSELF IN THE ARTISTIC WORLD. Just think a bit about art history O_O ! And think about artists that are working hard to be seen... without wanting to do what everybody is always doing.

And plus, fanarting only have nothing original. Oh yeah its fun.. you share fandom. I like it, I respect it. BUT C'MON. There's a freaking limit. When people start forgetting about artists that are real about what they're building 100%......

Worshipping ? Look in the dictionary about the real definition of "worship". I mean you can like or admire but worshipping... that just a lil' too much...
